This project, result of a partnership between the Institute for Mobility and Land Transport (IMTT) and the Automobile Association of Portugal (ACAP) and the conception, design and implementation of Moonlight, has cut an average of the previous deadline for registration procedures for approval of vehicles from 45 to 2 days, allowing a clear improvement in the process of approvals of vehicles in terms of speed and efficiency.

Reducing possible sources of error associated with manual processing of information, this application streamlines the entire process of data entry approvals of IMTT, avoiding repetition of previous data entry from Automotive industry, through efficient processes of data processing.

The application has several levels of access and allows the car manufacturers or their agents submit electronically information relating to approvals from the European Automobile, replacing  paper. To do this, they just have to load the data related to approvals and send them virtually to IMTT, that will access, analyse  and manage them for approvals. All traffic is encrypted using a Security Certificate.

Initially released only for the treatment of records of approvals of European cars, the vast majority of applications, will extend gradually to the homologation of all other categories of vehicles.
